DETAILS

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to manage a caseload.
  • Think outside the box, creatively problem solving.
  • Implement vision and big ideas.
  • Represent clients in as the work requires, e.g., court hearings, trials, negotiations, etc.
  • Create and implement case and trial strategies, maintaining a robust plan for each case and adjust when necessary.
  • Craft well-reasoned and compelling arguments for pleadings, motions, and settlements, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research.
  • Guide clients, offering clarity on their case specifics and setting clear expectations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all legal and ethical standards of the profession.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associate attorneys and legal assistants.
  • Engage in the firm’s collaborative ethos, working cohesively with team members to meet both firm and client objectives.

Requirements

  • Must hold an active license in Maryland; active license in DC is highly preferred. A second active license in VA is acceptable.
  • A minimum of 8 years of consistent experience in a practice area with increasing responsibility over complex matters.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex cases and supervising junior legal staff.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Acumen for devising effective case strategies and anticipating necessary actions.
  • Proficiency in client interactions, with a knack for building rapport and trust.
  • Confidence and skill in hearings, trials, and other court proceedings.
  • Able to handle increases in caseload.
