Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Temporary Accounting Specialist to join our team for a 3-month assignment at our financial institution in Dulles, VA. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient functioning of our accounting department by performing various accounts receivable and payable tasks, ensuring accurate documentation, and assisting with general accounting responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Data Entry and Coding:

• Enter, code, and process a high volume of accounts receivable and payable items.
• Utilize accounting software for accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

Documentation Management:

• Maintain organized records of Accounts Payable documentation.

Purchase Order Processing:

• Process purchase orders against invoices and proactively resolve any discrepancies.
• Utilize multi-period accounting functions in AP to amortize prepaid expenses.

Customer Support:

• Assist staff with inquiries related to invoices or expense reports.
• Reconciliation and Journal Entries:
• Assist with the reconciliation of accounts.
• Support the preparation and recording of journal entries.

Accounting Reports:

• Generate a variety of basic accounting reports for both internal and external customers.
• Check Deposit Preparation:
• Assist with the preparation and recording of check deposits.

Expense Report Auditing:

• Collaborate in the auditing of expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business is required.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications.
