DH ORTHO SPEC CLINIC PAV LJob Summary
Under general supervision the Limited Scope Radiography Technologist operates specialized X-ray equipment to capture diagnostic images of specific body parts as directed by physicians, focusing on a defined scope of practice.
Essential Functions:
Completes diagnostic x-rays for patients within the scope of practice for Limited Scope X-ray Operator certification. (25%)
Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and protect patients, self and other staff from radiation hazards. (25%)
Position patients and take X-ray of specific parts of the patients’ body as requested by the physician. (25%)
Take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients. (25%)
Education:
Post High School Diploma or Certificate Program Completion of American Registry of Radiologic Technician (ARRT) recognized Limited Scope X-ray Operator training program Required
Work Experience:
less than 1 year
Licenses:
BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required and
LSO-Limited Scope Operator - CDPHE - Colorado Department of Public Safety Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of medical office practice.
Knowledge of patient positioning with regards to medical imaging.
Knowledge of all technical aspects of medical imaging equipment.
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Skill in maintaining records and recording test results.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, employees, physicians and the public.
Ability to maintain quality control standards.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
Ability to communicate clearly.
Bilingual skills preferred
Ability to learn and be proficient in electronic health record documentation.
Utilize equipment and technology safely to provide patient care, upon completion of training and competency for applicable clinical area.
