Description

The Opportunity

Ulteig's Project Management team has an opportunity for an Electric Transmission and Substation Senior Project Manager to work from our client site with ability to travel. This is a rewarding growth opportunity where you will be involved in the entire scope of the project from initiation through close-out. You will also play an important role in the expansion of our Project Management capabilities. The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, control and close-out of major electric transmission and substation projects. The successful candidate must have exceptional leadership skills and possess the ability to successfully navigate through and resolve complex and oftentimes multi-functional challenges associated with large projects. Remote locations considered, our St. Paul, MN location is preferred.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic project management leadership for large and complex electric transmission and substation projects.
  • Responsible for leading projects through all client processes, and navigate the project life cycle, project scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Manage a collaborative project team to ensure each key functional project disciplines are met.
  • Mentor junior staff on best practices and project lifecycle
  • Accountable to develop, update and manage the project plan associated with the project life cycle.
  • Coordinate communication and provides status updates to stakeholders as required.
  • Assess project risk and proactively develop mitigation plans.
  • Proactively manages project requests for information and action items.
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Controls team to ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracking to plan.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

What We Expect from You

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of electric utility transmission and substation project management experience required.
  • PMP Certificate desired.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be organized and work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities.
  • Must be able to prepare clear and concise status updates and reports as required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for project- and client-related needs.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).
  • Experience with Primavera desired.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership, verbal/written communications, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations to support project scope, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • Must have permanent work authorization for the US.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Compensation Range is Generally +/- 15% of Position Mid-Point of $147,500*
