The Inova Virts Miller Family Emergency and Trauma Center is a full service emergency department for adults at Inova Loudoun Hospital. It is a Joint Commission-certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center and an integral part of the trauma program at Inova Loudoun Hospital – Loudoun County’s only designated trauma center.

Job Responsibilities: As a Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department (ED) Trauma Specialist, you will support and adhere to hospital policies, procedures, philosophies and missions. To help achieve our mission, you will communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. Your ability to use an integrated approach toward achieving desired patient outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in lifelong learning is of vital importance. Providing direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor is essential. Demonstrating leadership skills in decision making and problem solving while providing safe/therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way is required. Utilizing standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery while incorporating data and information to continuously improve care/practice and to enhance outcomes is expected.

Additional Requirements:
* Work schedule: 12 hours shift Nights (7 pm to 7 am)
* Education: BSN required.
* Experience: Minimum of 2 year of RN ED experience in a Leveled Trauma hospital.
* Certification: ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain advanced certification in applicable modality within 1 year of training; BLS from the American Heart Association.
* Clinical Certification required: BLS via AHA; Adult Trauma Nurse Specialist will require ACLS upon hire. Must obtain PALS within 90 days from date of hire
* Prefer active certification in: ATCN or TNCC and CEN
* Licensure: Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
