Overview:

We seek a dedicated 8th-grade math teacher to innovate and empower. You will help establish an achievement-oriented and supportive classroom culture while delivering standards-aligned instruction utilizing diverse and engaging techniques. Through individualized coaching and collaborative professional learning, you'll have the opportunity to develop as an educator, leader, and pioneer in Oakland school reform. Job Summary:

As an 8th Grade Math Teacher at Aurum Preparatory Academy, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for our students. You will deliver high-quality instruction, foster a love for learning, and support your students' social and emotional development.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute rigorous, Common Core-aligned lesson plans utilizing a strategically designed curriculum and blended learning techniques.
• Employ data-driven practices to provide differentiated instruction meeting all students' needs.
• Create an achievement-oriented class culture with clear expectations and student beliefs.
• Frequently assess progress and provide actionable feedback to students.
• Partner closely with families through proactive communication.
• Actively participate in regular coaching sessions and math teacher collaboration.
• Input into school initiatives and pilot innovative instructional approaches

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in subject area (Master's preferred)
• Valid CA teaching credential
• 2+ years of teaching experience
• A passionate belief that all students can achieve regardless of circumstance
• Strong instructional and classroom management capacity

Compensation & Benefits:

We offer a compensation package including a competitive salary commensurate with experience, health benefits, retirement contributions, dedicated coaching, and professional development stipends.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
