Job Description
PURPOSE: Our firm is seeking a qualified Senior Accountant to join our team. Work is to be performed on contracts held with federal clients. This is 100% remote work.
DETAILS:
The selected candidate will serve as an experienced team member providing Financial Improvement Audit Remediation services to a government client. Duties will include performing assessable unit evaluation and testing, drafting reports and findings addressing most accounting and auditing issues, executing the more complicated procedures of testing, and developing testing approach and sampling plans.
Required:
· Minimum of 2.5 years’ experience in financial, accounting, business system, and auditing of end-to-end business processes in support of audit readiness and remediation
· Four-year degree from an accredited university or college, with preferred requirements of Accounting, Business, Government or Public Administration, Public Finance, or related field.
· Eligible to be issued a CAC.
· Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment with access to consistent, reliable internet and telephone.
· Available during defined core hours M-F via collaborative communication applications (i.e. Teams)
· Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment, including the ability to multi-task and work independently; be collaborative and team player/oriented; and be a good communicator and listener.
· Strong business writing and communication skills
· Detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and self-motivated.
· Skilled in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & MS Project)
Highly Desired:
- Finance, accounting, or audit readiness support within the Department of Defense
- Experience with FIAR/OMB Circular A-123 work products: narratives, flowcharts, internal control assessments, systems inventory, test plan development and execution, corrective actions (SOX experience will be considered)
- Experience with the audit cycle, audit support, and audit response within a DoD or Federal environment
- Experience in a client-facing role, at various levels within an organization
- Developing, assessing, and/or updating accounting, budget, and compliance policies
- Experience with and understanding of Complementary User Entity Controls (CUECs) and Service Provider relationships, to include, testing the associated systems and associated FISCAM control categories.
- Experience with Federal financial management, OMB Circulars, FIAR Guidance, DoD FMR
- Familiarity with Oracle accounting systems
