Budget Scope:Prepares and manages the Maintenance department budget.

General Description:Responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and implementing the maintenance department activities for production and the yard operations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Define the actions needed to maintain the facility and processing equipment in compliance with FDA, OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Acts as the Chairman of the Employee Safety Committee and is a member of the Food Safety/HACCP Team and the Crisis Management Team.
  • Coordinates with Sales and Operations to develop and implement new or improved products and processes.
  • Establishes the project requirements for external equipment and facility contractors
  • Defines the operating parameters of the Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Maintains an inventory of critical equipment parts to assure operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Acts as the purchasing function for equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Acts as the point person for computer and Information Technology systems.
  • As a member of the Food Safety/HACCP Team, assures that root cause analysis and corrective actions, as defined by the HACCP Team, are completed.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, meeting with suppliers and contractors and establishing personal technical networks.

Education/Experience/Capabilities Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related experience.
  • 15 to 20 years experience in food industry, with supervisory background.
  • Must have excellent communication and management skills.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMI, Conveyors, wastewater treatment/management, dicing and washing equipment etc.
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis.

Relationships: Equipment suppliers and manufacturers, maintenance support functions, information technology contractors, all company functions.
