Environmental Scientist Intern

Triad Engineering, Inc. is seeking an exceptional candidate for an internship opportunity within the Environmental department of our Hagerstown, MD office location.

Working in direct support of the Practice Leader, this temporary, entry-level position is designed to expose the student to a broad range of science and engineering practices and skills, providing a well-rounded learning experience.

DUTIES

Responsibilities Include:

• Assist Staff, Project and Senior personnel with diverse tasks as assigned
• Apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria to complete routine engineering assignments
• May rotate throughout Triad's various disciplines as needed to support workload and/or enhance learning
• Responsibilities may include assisting in field, laboratory and/or office work
• Complete and submit all required documentation and reports in a legible and timely manner
• Notify supervisor immediately of problems and/or deviations from assignments, plans and/or specifications
• May interact with clients and will be expected to do so in a professional and customer-friendly manner
• Strive to make each project profitable by completing each task efficiently and timely

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or environmental science discipline

Experience

• No formal experience is required
• Exposure to engineer-related activities is highly preferred
• Involvement in related professional organizations preferred

Additional Requirements:

• Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments

This position may require long term standing and repetitive motions. Must have the ability to use your hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit. Must have the ability to see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. The employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; occasionally move 80 pounds or more (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples).
