Job Description
The internship program is designed for high school graduates and college students who are walking closely with Jesus and would like to spend the summer working in children’s ministry and discipling the next generation.
WHAT WILL THE INTERNSHIP INVOLVE?
Ministry involves many types of work, from administrative tasks to volunteer recruiting to teaching Bible lessons. As a Children’s Ministry Intern, you’ll play an active role in planning and executing weekend programming, Centrikid Summer Camp and special events. Additionally, you will receive intentional training and discipleship from the NextGen team to develop you as a faithful servant of Jesus.
WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS OF AN MBC INTERN?
Internship dates are June 9 – August 14, 2024. Children’s Ministry Interns can expect to work 30-35 hours a week with set office hours across Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Some evening and weekend availability will be required for special events. During the end of July and early August, Interns can expect to work more hours to support the camps happening during those times.
A mandatory orientation for all MBC Interns will take place on Sunday, June 9 from 1-3pm.
MBC Interns will be permitted up to 5 vacation days throughout the summer with written approval. Vacation day requests must be submitted by May 22, and approval/denial will be given by the internship start date. Vacation days cannot be used during mandatory summer camp dates.
For NextGen ministries, summer camps are a critical part of our mission to make disciples of the next generation. Centrikid Summer Camp is August 5th-9th and will be MANDATORY for all Children’s Ministry Interns. All NextGen Interns will serve at one additional camp over the summer:
- High School Summer Camp – July 13th – 17th
- Middle School Summer Camp – August 1st – 4th
- Access VBS Camp – July 8th – 12th and July 22nd – 26th
WHEN WILL I KNOW IF I’M ACCEPTED?
The internship application will close March 31 and we will conduct interviews during the month of April. We will make our final decisions and notify applicants by May 1.
IS THERE ANY COMPENSATION?
MBC Interns will receive a stipend of $2,500 for the summer.
