Location:  Bethesda, Maryland; Hybrid - Maryland, Virginia or Washington, D.C. 

This is a hybrid position where you will work out of the Bethesda, MD office 3 days/week.

The Position
Collage Group is seeking a sales-driven Business Development Associate (BDA) to join our innovative and growing team in our mission to help organizations unleash the power of culture to drive brand growth. The BDA will be an aspiring salesperson with experience in prospecting companies, conducting lead generation activities, warm and cold outreach and qualifying potential new clients. The role is focused on seeking and qualifying new business opportunities by contacting and developing prospects through inbound and outbound (cold calling) efforts to generate pipeline.
The BDA will partner one-to-one with a Sales Director in conducting research, developing strategies and tactics to schedule “top of the sales funnel” meetings with a goal of supporting the Sales Director’s monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Candidates will have demonstrated strong interest in a sales career through previous sales experience or other means; and are motivated by developing sales skills, building a sales career and hitting goals.  The best candidates will demonstrate that they are self-motivated, driven, have a proven track record of hitting or exceeding targets, and a thirst for knowledge and development.  Experience and passion for the following is a ‘plus’ and will be an advantage: marketing, advertising, market research, diversity & inclusion, consumer insights and brand strategy, multicultural consumers.

What you will do:
  • Proactively research, prospect, source, and qualify potential new clients using the latest technology available, like Salesforce.com and SalesLoft.
  • Contact potential clients by phone, email, and social channels like LinkedIn to initiate conversation with prospective clients and schedule meetings.
  • Develop an understanding of our buyer, Consumer Insights & Market Research professionals, and their business issues, challenges and opportunities that lead to Collage solutions
  • Share research insights and educate prospects on the value of Collage Group’s data/analytics platform and syndicated research to address critical needs of consumer insights professionals and multicultural marketing executives at some of the world’s most well-known brands.
  • Respond to ‘Inbound Marketing’ leads generated through Collage webinars, events and thought leadership marketing efforts
  • Conduct strategic research on companies and industries for target prospects in your territory to drive more thoughtful outreach and sales conversations with prospects, leading to more scheduled meetings with higher-quality prospects 
  • Create personalized outbound and inbound messaging based on prospects’ business needs and areas of interest to continuously generate demand in your territory
  • Utilize sales tools, including but not limited to Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, SalesLoft, ZoomInfo, to research, track and engage prospects
  • Track and report individual progress to weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals for initial meetings scheduled and opportunity pipeline sourced
  • Communicate and collaborate with your Sales Director on a daily basis to develop campaigns, sales strategies and tactics to achieve sales goals and business success
  • Meet or exceed quota expectations for number of scheduled sales meetings per week / month
  • Be sales driven, stay curious, and have fun! 
Qualifications:
  • Completed college degree. Degree or minor in Marketing, Market Research or Advertising a plus
  • Entry-level candidates with strong demonstrated interest in a sales career will be considered
  • Demonstrated excitement about sales / selling and a commitment to a sales career
  • Not required, but 6 -12 months of proven experience achieving targets as a BDA/BDR, or similar role in a B2B company is an advantage
  • Consistently met or exceeded weekly and monthly goals for phone calls, outbound emails, and meetings scheduled in a BDA/BDR role
  • Work experience using sales tools preferred like Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, SalesLoft, Outreach, or similar technologies

  • Proven comfortable in conducting a very high-volume of quality outreach through outbound calling, emailing and social channels
  • Self-motivated by personal commitment to high-standard, success, achievement and career-growth
  • Shown the ability to stay organized, plan and prioritize daily tasks/responsibilities effectively and multi-task independently in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Collaborated well with others in a team environment to solve difficult challenges and take advantage of opportunities
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and not afraid to ask for help
