Service Advisor - Job Description:
The Automotive Service Advisor communicates with customers to schedule regular vehicle maintenance services, quick service repairs, or regular vehicle repair diagnostics and service. The Service Advisor, as the customer’s primary contact for vehicle service and repair, stays in contact with the customer to advise of scheduled completion times and suggest additional automotive services or needed repairs.
Service Advisor - Job Responsibilities:
- The Service Advisor/Writer is responsible for the entire customer service experience until the vehicle is turned back over to the customer
- Generate estimates, suggest services and advise of any current promotional products/services
- Advise customers on the routine care of their vehicles and the value of maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications
- Communicate to the customer on targeted completion time.
- Follow up with progress calls and/or emails to customers regarding any changes in the estimate or pick up time
- Document repair and maintenance changes on repair order
- Resolve customer complaints and questions
- Establish and maintain strong positive working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
- The Service Advisor will maintain Customer Service Index (CSI) ratings as set by the dealership service manager
Service Advisor - Job Requirements:
- Experience as a service advisor or quick service advisor
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong written and communication skills
- Consistent and stable work history
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Professional appearance and work ethic
- Great organizational skills
