Job Designation

The Maintenance Technician Specialist is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various equipment/facility issues, implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance across all equipment and systems throughout the facility in accordance with standard procedures, internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Directing and instructing other maintenance technicians as required for successful effective maintenance at the Danville site.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and effectively work on a variety of tasks including PLC's, low/high voltage, CNC's, furnaces, water cooling systems, various mechanical pumps, etc.
  • Support all Meggitt Production System objectives and utilize lean tools for continual improvement of the Maintenance Department. Lead DLA 1 meetings, ensure up-to-date data for all DLA metrics for the Maintenance Department and support other departmental partnerships in DLA efforts.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment to ensure the safety and general welfare of all employees.
  • Work with maintenance supervision and manufacturing management to efficiently schedule preventative maintenance, routine maintenance and breakdown repairs so as to support 24/7 manufacturing operations. Requires participation on manufacturing and quality cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure maintenance supplies, equipment spares and services are readily available in order to support maintenance activities. This includes justifying, ordering, tracking, shipping/receiving and effectively storing maintenance items.
  • Work with Maintenance leadership team to develop and improve the maintenance storeroom in both form and function to ensure the correct parts and quantities are in-stock and replenished as needed.
  • Support and back-up Maintenance Supervisor in communication and scheduling maintenance team members (including Specialists and Technicians) on completion of tasks and preventive maintenance items.
  • Ensure Maintenance representation and support as required in Continuous Improvement/Troubleshooting events including TPM, 3P, SMED, 5-Why and other events.
  • Lead the AMT student program to ensure students are getting adequate training and exposure to maintenance activities. Work with Maintenance leadership team to develop training programs specific to the AMT students' academic development level. Document and provide feedback to students on developmental goals.
  • Assist with assuring Company facilities and processes are in compliance with all EPA, OSHA and other applicable governmental regulations concerning environmental, health and safety issues. Is also required to be trained in MABS-Kentucky hazardous waste management program and be certified in hazardous material transportation (49 CFR 172.704a) and drive ownership in the hazardous waste areas.

  • Education: High School Diploma required.
  • Certifications: Vocational training in a related field required

Years' Experience: 2-4 years' experience of significant experience with industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
