Controller Finance Manager

We are a strong and growing family enterprise looking to add a Comptroller/Finance Manager to our expanding team.  Individual assuming this position can expect to manage the finances of two fire protection companies and a commercial real estate company serving the Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia areas.  This position supervises all accounting functions while ensuring meaningful, reliable and timely financial services and reports.  We are a dominate fire protection team serving the MD, DC, and Va areas looking for a financially intelligent Comptroller who is looking to contribute and grow as part of a successful team! We are hands on, work well with each other, and make great things happen team who enjoys greatly what we do in the fire protection industry! 

Responsibilities

·         Prepare reports including cash flow statements, P&L, balance sheets, and budgets

·         Develop metrics of business activity for improved efficiencies

·         Conduct the month end, quarterly, and annual period close outs

·         Facilitate internal payroll to our third-party payroll company

·         Assist others with the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) 

·         Sales and Use Tax filings within the various jurisdictions

·         Control of disbursements and capital expenditures

·         Assist in the development of policies and processes for successive growth

·         Work along with our outside accounting firm for required accounting tasks

·         Work directly with President

Professional Experience Requirements

·         Minimum of 7-10 years accounting and finance experience

·         Experienced in standard construction accounting practices & payroll

·         BS Degree in finance and/or accounting

·         Previous experience in fire protection or construction highly preferred

·         Analytical skills in financial statements 

·         Personable skills with the ability to professionally interact with people at all levels

·         General ledger and bank statement reviews and reconciliations

·         Ideal candidate will be proficient in Sage Timberline and Quickbooks

·         Accounting firm experience would be a plus
