Auto Installation Technician Apprentice

We are looking for candidates that want to work in a hands-on environment and have great attention to detail to join our team as an apprentice in the role of Automotive Installation Technician- Emergency Vehicle Upfitter. 

In this role, you will be trained to transform new factory stock vehicles into highly specialized emergency vehicles needed to protect and serve our communities and first responders. With 6 locations across the West Coast, this job offers an abundance of opportunity for growth and transfer.

Schedule

  • Full Time-Hourly
  • Typical Schedule is Monday- Friday 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.; some overtime required

Compensation

  • $18-20 per hour depending on experience

Primary Responsibilities

  • Removal of factory interior and exterior equipment and parts
  • Installation of specialized parts including Lightbars, Red and Blue lights, Push Bumpers, Sirens, Controllers, Speakers, Partitions, Window Bars, Prisoner seats, Gun racks, In Car Video, Computers, License Plate Recognition and much more.
  • Carefully tracking inventory and workorders
  • Participating in shop clean-up and safety duties
  • Ensure tools and inventory are kept neat and orderly

Attributes of a Strong Candidate:

  • Must be familiar with and used to working with hand and power tools such as, screw drivers, wrenches, hand drills, etc.
  • Physically fit with exceptional manual and physical dexterity to work in, under and around vehicles
  • Basic knowledge or any previous experience of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles preferred (12V system)
  • Ability to work independently while in a team environment
  • The desire to learn a new trade and be a part of a positive working culture and team
  • Attention to detail
  • Pre-Employment Background Check
