Perennial/Nursery Team Member (Seasonal) at Janzen's Greenhouse

Are you passionate about plants and looking for a fun and rewarding seasonal opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Perennial/Nursery Team Member. As a key member of our team, you will assist in the daily operations of our nursery, ensuring the health and well-being of our plants and providing exceptional service to our valued customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the maintenance and care of perennial plants, including watering, fertilizing, pruning, and transplanting
• Provide excellent service by assisting customers in selecting and caring for their plants
• Maintain a neat and organized nursery, ensuring that plants are displayed attractively and appropriately labeled
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking new plant shipments
• Collaborate with team members to effectively communicate and execute daily tasks and special projects
• Operate nursery equipment, such as irrigation systems, hand tools, and small machinery, safely and efficiently

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a nursery or garden center is preferred, but not required
• Positive and friendly attitude with a genuine passion for plants and horticulture
• Strong knowledge of perennial plants and their care requirements
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, work outdoors and in various weather conditions
• Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast paced work environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation depends on your experience.
