Specific Job Functions:
- Assist with ongoing Wardrobe Department operations; duties include: alterations, repairs, sewing, fitting, and cleaning of all costumes and accessories for the production.
- Assist artists with fitting of new costume elements as needed.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of the costume workshop.
- Regularly inspect costumes for cleaning, maintenance and repairs.
- Communicate notes, alterations and artist requirements to department personnel and necessary management to ensure proper and timely repairs.
- Participate in special projects, including making and altering new costume show elements.
- Assist other departments as needed to run the performances and rehearsals.
- Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show; participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training.
- Maintains maintenance documentation and participates in rotation of duties as directed.
- Assists with the ordering, procuring and tracking of the department’s expendables and equipment.
- Performs all other job related duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- Strong skills in draping, flat pattern making, cutting, sewing and building costumes out of knit and woven fabrics.
- Skilled on industrial sewing machines.
- Completion of OSHA 10hr General Industry Certification needed.
- At least 2 years in Wardrobe in the operations and maintenance of large scale production show.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
- Flexible with schedule. Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Able to proficiently communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
- Degree in Costume or Fashion Design preferred.
- Previous experience working in a similar resort setting preferred.
