Chief Nursing Officer


Join a community hospital as their Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) ensuring patient care provided by staff is consistent with regulatory standards as well as with internal expectations of the organization. The CNO will drive the organizations’ goal of supporting their clinical nursing staff with continued career growth and professional development. Assures that hospital programs, products and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders. The CNO will be part of the Executive leadership team and will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Position Type/Expected schedule:

  • Onsite
  • Full-Time

Hospital and Position Details:

  • Network of a hospital and several clinics - Urgent Care, Primary Care, Family Medicine, and Emergency Services.
  • Oversees - Case Management, Utilization Review, Nursing Services, Laboratory Services, Emergency Physicians, Hospitalist Providers, Anesthesia Providers, Surgical Assistants, Oncology Clinic and Oncologist, Quality and Risk Management, Pharmacy, Respiratory, Sleep, Infection Prevention, Employee Health, Telemedicine, and Home Care Services. Oversight of other departments can be added as needed by Executive Leadership
  • 20-30 Direct Reports

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in nursing, required.
  • Current State Nursing License, required.
  • 5+ years in Executive Nursing Management/Administration/Operations experience, in an acute care facility.
  • Progressive nursing management over multiple Service lines, required.
  • 5+ years progressive clinical nursing experience required.
  • Previous experience working in a rural healthcare setting at a Critical Access Hospital, preferred.
  • Experience participating in Union negotiations, strongly preferred.
  • Able to lead diverse groups and demonstrate solid interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to be visible and hands-on as needed,
