Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is a hands-on position that also leads, directs, and coordinates activities of the maintenance technicians engaged in repair, maintenance, installation of machines, tools, and industrial manufacturing equipment. This role is also responsible for providing leadership, ensuring safe work practices and developing/approving procedures to maximize efficiency associated with the maintenance processes and personnel. Required to perform inventory of maintenance parts & supplies and interact with suppliers and internal department personnel. The incumbent is expected to be a self-starter, a good manager of time, work independently and follow Altor Solutions’ standards for safety and conduct.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Manage maintenance team across all shifts.

· Lead maintenance planning to ensure proper scheduling of maintenance work, effective utilization of maintenance man-hours, minimization of work backlog, and PM compliance.

· Monitors operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in timely manner.

· Serve as the technical resource to maintenance and operations regarding engineering solutions, equipment improvements, and emergency repairs.

· Proficient in reading schematics to trouble shoot hydraulic / pneumatic and electrical issues.

· Responsibility for managing maintenance costs, including maintenance labor costs, maintenance parts, and outside services for repairs.

· Serve as backup for setting up, removing and storage of production molds in accordance with documented procedures.

· Serve as backup to maintain usable fill guns and ejectors through bench testing, cleaning, rebuilding, and inspecting.

· Serve as backup for Water treatment: collect, test and report water samples for hardness, pH and etc. at various stages throughout the process

· Develop and promote systems and culture that strive for world class maintenance, including preventative and predictive maintenance, clean and organized work areas, and improved equipment reliability.

· Responsible for coordinating contractor work on site as it pertains to production equipment and facility repairs.

· Manage and review standard operating procedures and work instructions as they pertain to maintenance.

· Request capital expenditure requests for maintenance-based projects.

· Function as maintenance point person for management of change approval on new and modified equipment.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory affairs if required, FDA, OSHA, SQF mechanical integrity and process hazards analysis (PHA).

· Ensure all Safety and ISO programs and procedures are followed, accepted, and endorsed by the entire department.

· Interface and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient working relationship.

· Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.

· Uphold and maintain organizational values and standards.

Education/Experience

Associate degree in technical field; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience required. Proficient in use of Microsoft applications and maintenance planning systems.


Additional Work Experience

· Experience monitoring and maintaining low pressure boilers, air compressors, air driers, and vacuum pumps.

· Experience maintaining forklifts
