Job Title: Program Manager

Job Summary:

This position is in support of the NOAA's National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS). Joining NCCOS offers the thrilling opportunity to lead diverse teams in pioneering projects that safeguard our coastal ecosystems, all while enjoying the flexibility of remote work and the support of FedWriters' comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Discussing any issues that arise with COR and government personnel
  • Providing monthly and quarterly reports of progress toward products
  • Accepting and processing changes to individual positions, and fill new requirements
  • Meeting monthly or as needed with COR to review invoices
  • Carrying out orientation for new contractor staff, providing the COR all background/security information required for processing
  • Managing a system for reporting time and attendance, and processing leave requests
  • Serving as POC for staff to call in when they are going to be absent, and provide notification to the work group
  • Responding to contractor staff payroll, benefits, training and travel questions
  • Communicating contractor company policies to contractor staff
  • Providing miscellaneous administrative reports to COR, as requested

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or administrative discipline
  • PMP certification
  • 10+ years of project management experience
  • The ability to oversee a team of varied, diverse scientific and administrative personnel

Desired:

  • Prior experience managing projects with NOAA or another scientific organization

Work Setting and Environment:

  • Monday - Friday, must be available between 6 AM and 8 PM
  • Work is to be performed remotely
