Job Description
Capital Area Pediatrics offers accessible, comprehensive pediatric care to families at five practice locations throughout Northern Virginia. For both sickness and health, generations of families have chosen Capital Area Pediatrics to provide outstanding care and an exceptional patient experience. We are currently hiring for a Staff Accountant who will work on-site at our Central Business Office in Oakton, Virginia.

Responsibilities

Payroll

  • Process biweekly and semimonthly payrolls within ADP
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions
  • Perform account balance and payroll reconciliations
  • Respond to payroll related inquiries
  • Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management

Accounting

  • Working under the direction of our Accounting & Finance Team:
    • Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements
    • Invoice review and GL Coding
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements
    • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts
    • Prepare and/or record general ledger entries
    • Work with accounting firm to process month-end accruals
    • Accurate and timely posting of payables
    • Control expenses through verification of invoices and expense reports
    • Deposit checks
    • Perform additional functions as needed to support business needs

Accounts Payable

  • Process payments to vendors
  • Utilize bill.com to optimize the accounts payable process
  • Leverage credit card rewards programs to ensure the highest level of value for purchasing
  • Order and maintain inventory for vaccines, medical supplies, and equipment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Computer skills i.e. Microsoft Office suite, ability to navigate websites and experience with practice management software knowledge is preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform well in a fast-paced patient care environment.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of accounting experience, including AP and processing payroll for a mid to large size business. Healthcare experience a plus!
  • Experience working with ADP’s Workforce Now, QuickBooks Online, Bill.com and Excel are all strongly preferred.
