Supports the nursing vision, shared governance, ongoing professional development, and maintenance of competencies that support professional nursing practice. Creates and maintains a culture of safety by using data to make decisions and proactively mitigate unnecessary risks by providing instruction and mentoring for assigned team members to be able to do the same. Creates a healthy work environment that fosters engagement and growth of the nursing teams that enables the organization to meet or exceed all licensure, regulatory and accreditation standards. Role models teamwork and collaboration with team members, physicians and departments across the organization, ensuring the voice of the patient is central to formation of process or policy. Performs other duties related to role as assigned.

Required Minimum Education: Must hold a Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from accredited nursing school.

Required Minimum Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse, actively licensed in the state of South Carolina. National certification in clinical specialty preferred. Nurse Managers are to maintain BLS. They will maintain other certifications as required by those units they oversee. Managers over designated stroke units/floors/Emergency Department will maintain NIHSS certification.

Required Minimum Experience: Minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse. Experience as a charge nurse desirable.

Required Qualifications: Possess strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills to lead, influence, and coach team members for individual and organizational success. Critical thinking and ability to analyze data to plan and evaluate performance improvement. Manage the delivery of care based on evidence and focused on quality safe patient care. Supports a shared governance model. Knowledge of risk management and accreditation, regulatory and licensing requirements. Understanding of the budgetary process and ability to monitor and develop financial strategies for cost effective care. Demonstrates clinical competency in specialty.
