Primary responsibilities:

We're looking for teammates who share our passion for creating equitable access to nutritious food and addressing the root causes and impact of hunger. The Dispatch Supervisor manages all daily transportation activities, staff assignments, cross-training employees, staff development and performance evaluations. You will partner with Acquisition and Logistics departments to process all local product donation orders for Harvesters. Compliance with all Department of Transportation rules and regulations is required. This position is responsible for ensuring all donor pickups and agency deliveries are completed on time and anything late is communicated. Occasionally, this position assists in the truck loading process and/or driver duties. Logistical skills will be employed for routing of daily deliveries and pickups to ensure efficient movement of product.

Other aspects of the job:

This position functions in an office, warehouse and outside environment. It requires the use of general office equipment, extensive walking across the warehouse and back and forth to the office. Incumbent will spend 70% of the time stationary working at a computer terminal and 30% of the time working in a warehouse or in the outside yard.

Qualifications:

Required Experience

  • 3 years of related experience including dispatching duties, customer service, scheduling routes and deliveries. Must also include 2 years of prior supervisory experience.
  • Class A CDL Preferred
  • Digital literacy, knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications including Navision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Harvesters.

Required Education

  • High school education or equivalent
