In partnership with the University of Maryland Express Care (MEC) and Butler Medical Transport's Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor is responsible to be able to fill the role as a MEC Emergency Vehicle Operators (EVOs) first and foremost, and is responsible for ensuring field operations teams conduct daily operations at MEC Baltimore, MEC Easton, and MEC Aberdeen in a manner that provides excellent customer service, follows all safety procedures and policies, and maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements and regulatory/licensing agencies. The Operations Supervisor at MEC will ensure that team members have all the necessary equipment, resources, licensing/credentials, and training to complete their patient care and assigned transports in a proper and efficient manner that meets our contractual and customer service standards, and that crews and vehicles are compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations. The Operations Supervisor at MEC may share their time between all bases throughout the week, with their primary base being the Baltimore Base, with the expectation that the other bases will be visited no less than three times per month per base, or more as operations require.
The Operations Supervisor is the leadership designee of Butler Medical Transport (BMT) at MEC. In addition, they will act as an arm of MEC leadership team ensuring the highest level of professionalism is maintained, and all expectations are exceeded in providing the best possible of critical care ground transport service. The Operations Supervisor will be entrusted with a split role, with 40% of their role being direct supervision and the first line of contact for not only EVOs but also the MEC clinical crews to ensure the fleet is always operationally ready. If deficiencies are found, the Operations Supervisor will ensure that there is a plan of action in place to rectify them as soon as possible, and that the plan has been effectively communicated to all stake holders.
The Operations Supervisor will work two clinical shifts and two leadership shifts each week. Shift schedule to be determined by operational need.

Requirements
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide excellent patient care within the scope of practice of an EMT EVO
- Provide safe transport of the patient and crew
- Respond to emergent and non-emergent transports
- Provides effective communication with patients, dispatch, crews, family members, and facility staff
- Ability operation communication devices; portable radio, cell phone, computer tablet
- Completion of patient contact reports prior to shift completion
- Ensure maintenance of vehicles and equipment for transport readiness
- Ability to travel and work between all MEC locations
- Maintain cleanliness of station
- Maintain certifications with timely completion of refresher courses and CMEs
- Remain current on all state protocols, policies, and/or procedures
- Represent BMT at community events as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Graduation From High School or equivalent
- 19 years old at time of hire for insurance purposes
- Current NREMT EVO and State EMT EVO (or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire)
- Two years of EMT experience
- Two years of EVO experience with one year being on an ALS critical care team
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Current AHA BLS CPR or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire
- Ability to provide quality patient care within scope of practice
- Knowledge of all state protocols for an EMT EVO
- Must successfully complete the MEC EVO Orientation Program
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to drive company vehicles with a clean driving record
- Successful completion of a state sponsored EVOC course or ability to obtain in 90 days
- Ability to pass a lift test of 150 - 200 pounds
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
- Ability to speak and write English
