The General Manager of the Steamboat Grand reports to the Vice President of Lodging and will provide leadership to the lodging team at this property. The Steamboat Grand is steps from the base of the ski area with abundant amenities. The general manager will be responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Steamboat Grand Hotel and the Steamboat Grand Homeowners Association. Overall responsibility currently includes 182-unit beautifully appointed hotel rooms, spacious condos, and luxurious penthouses. The hotel is comprised of more than 17,000 square feet of conference space, food and beverage outlets, a health club, and retail outlets. This position provides direct leadership to front desk, maintenance/engineering, health club, bell/valet, concierge, and owner services operations.

**Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:**

* Strategic planning, short- and long-term projects

* Establish goals and objectives for managers and review

* Be guest-facing at the property; set the example

* Attend meetings with designer and board members on improvement projects

* Work with revenue management and understand revenue, ADR, and night goals and review data

* Daily walk-around and inspection of hotel operations.

* Ensure Steamboats culture of internal and external exceptional service is implemented

* in all aspects of lodging operations.

* Coordinate and lead Grand managers meeting

* Follow through with all Supervisors/Managers/Directors that the Service Excellence policies are

* being implemented.

* Active participation in all HOA meetings.

* Create and review annual Budget processes.

* HOA bill payments including review and approval

* Monitor all Employee Recognition programs

* Stay informed on group sales leads and contracts

**Minimum skills, experience, education, and ability for this job:**

* Bachelors degree in business, hospitality or related field or equivalent work experience is preferred.

* Minimum of three years of hospitality management level position at a full-service resort conference lodge, preferred experience managing a homeowners association.

* Ability to cope with numerous condominium owners, staff, and understanding corporate acumen is needed.

* Ability to problem-solve in a highly effective manner and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff, including management, subordinates, and co-workers.

* Proven organizational skills with excellent written and oral skills required.

* Able to provide leadership to a broad section of individuals and provide a positive and motivating environment, consistent with Steamboats Service Excellence standards

* Proficient in business management software applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

* Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, rehabilitation plans, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hotel law, homeowners association agreements, and the development of long-range planning.

* Ability to cope with numerous condominium owners, staff, and understanding corporate acumen is needed.

* Leadership and sharing of your skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure the accomplishment of goals. Do everything in your power to make your team successful.

* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with management and staff--being persuasive, clear, and to the point. Written communication skills to be concise, well organized, complete, clear, and understandable in order to formulate complex reports and communicate with the public, staff, corporate offices, and owners.

* Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.

* Must meet SSRC minimum driving standards and have current drivers license; a successful motor vehicle record and criminal background check are required.

**Physical Requirements:**

* Able to use computer keyboard

* Ability to move throughout premises and visually inspect conditions including bending, stooping, and reaching arms overhead.

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporations total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat area base salary range: $120,000 - $130,000 per year
