Job Summary/Company: Sparks Group seeks a Senior Compensation Specialist to join the HR team of a large, well known government contractor in the Tysons market. This role requires candidates to be local to the Mclean, Virginia area and report to the office two to three days per week.
Due to the nature of the work done in the building, US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an internal consultant and strategic compensation partner to leadership teams, Finance, Legal, and Business Units.
  • Address complex compensation challenges: pay strategies, talent retention, internal compression, and market competitiveness.
  • Develop, analyze, and recommend competitive and equitable compensation structures across multiple countries.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge and provide thoughtful problem-solving to influence compensation design, development, and implementation.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to align on compensation strategies and ensure smooth annual compensation cycles.
  • Support effective communication, training, and education on compensation to employees and leaders.
  • Manage projects effectively, defining deliverables, milestones, timelines, and responsible parties.
  • Provide input into compensation policies and guidelines promoting fairness, transparency, and employee satisfaction.
  • Champion a human-centered approach to create solutions that consider employee experience.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience applying advanced compensation theories to complex problems (base pay, bonus plans, reward programs).
  • 4+ years of experience advising leaders, building relationships, and driving change.
  • Experience with domestic and international compensation: surveys, programs, analyses, budgets, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in HR technologies: HRIS systems.
  • Expertly wield Microsoft Office: PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Knowledge of employment law, compensation management, salary planning, and workforce analytics.
