Shift:

• 13 week contract
• Days/evenings

Qualifications:

1. Education:

   • High school diploma or equivalent.
   • Completion of a certified surgical technologist program.

2. Certifications:

   • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or an equivalent certifying body.

3. Experience:

   • Previous experience as a surgical technologist preferred but not always required for entry-level positions.
   • 2 years experience in a hospital setting.

4. Skills:

   • Proficiency in surgical instrumentation, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols.
   • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
   • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Surgical Preparation: Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, including sterilizing equipment, arranging surgical instruments, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.

2. Patient Care: Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning and prepping the surgical site while maintaining strict sterile technique.

3. Surgical Instrumentation: Hand surgical instruments and supplies to the surgeon and surgical team during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring a smooth flow of the surgery.

4. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain surgical equipment, such as sterilizers and lights, and troubleshoot any technical issues as they arise.

5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all surgical procedures, instrument counts, and patient data, adhering to hospital and regulatory guidelines.
