Busser
A Busser is responsible for the grooming of the entire restaurant and its perimeters as well as supporting servers and service staff with refills and clearing tables. Additionally, the Busser resets tables in a speedy professional and effective manner as guests leave the restaurant. They ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.
Job Duties:
- Clear tables after guest have finished meals, taking tableware to dish room and place new silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing.
- Between setting promptly, clean table tops, chairs and booths. Check floors and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop for next guest.
- Respond appropriate to guest request. Communicating guest request to servers immediately.
- Communicate with server and host to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.
- Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
- Being a team player by helping fellow co-workers as request arise.
- Wipe up any spills to ensure restaurant floors remain dry.
- Fill/empty soaks tubs with cleaning /sanitizing solutions.
- Sweep/mop floors and trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster.
- Maintain a high level of personal cleanliness.
- General restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
- Other duties as directed.
Skills & Qualifications:
- No previous restaurant experience required.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers (verbally interacts with management, team members and guests.)
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Be able to safely lift bags, cases and stacks weighing up to 60 pounds up to 30 times per shift.
- Walks and stands during entire shift.
- Life and carry rack or stacks of dishes, glassware or other utensil, weighing up to 30 lbs., up to 50 times per shift.
- Lift and empty trashcans weighing up to 150 lbs., with assistance, up to three times per shift.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and lifting.
- Continuous use of hands and arms, along with bending, reaching, twisting.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledgeable in safe food handling and sanitation, along with safety cooking procedures.
- California Food Handler Card is required for all foodservice employees.
