Title: Stormwater & Soil Erosion Sediment Control Review (DOEE)-

$50.00 – $55.00 per hour

Location: Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE)

1200 First Street NE, Washington, DC 20002

Duty Hours: Between 8:00am and 7:00pm (NTE 40hrs per week)

100% Remote

Days: Monday – Friday

Duration: ASAP – September 30, 2023 (plus 4 option years)

Hourly Rate: $50.00 – 55.00 per hour (W2, life insurance benefits, paid federal holidays, accrued vacation)

COVID News: While onsite, all personnel onsite will adhere to CDC guidelines to include: social distancing, wear a face covering, washing hands, etc.

Stormwater & Soil Erosion Sediment Control Review (DOEE) Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Experience reviewing Land Development Plans
  • >= 2 years working on stormwater projects in the District of Columbia
  • Experience with the District of Columbia Building codes and 2020 Stormwater Regulations
  • >= 2 years of experience reviewing or submitting building permits
  • Familiarity with DOEE SGS online permitting software

Stormwater & Soil Erosion Sediment Control Review (DOEE)- Reviews architectural plans, construction plans and specifications for conformance with codes. Receives and prepares various correspondence, architectural drawings, construction plans, specifications, manuals, code books, ordinances, standards, reference materials or other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.

Experience/Knowledge:

Expert ability to read and interpret construction documents including, but not limited to construction plans, specifications, electrical, plumbing, structural and mechanical.

Ability and willingness to quickly learn new software programs and new technologies associated with assigned work tasks.

Ability to work well and establish positive working relationships with property owners, professional architects, engineers, contractors, public officials, fellow employees, and the general public in what can be, at times adversarial situations.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of preparing and explaining changes that need to be made in a customer’s plans, preparing reports, and to provide testimony in court (as required), and speaking at trainings or conferences.

Effective and persuasive in oral and written communication when representing DCRA internally as well as to the public on complex plan review issues, concepts, and programs.

Professional knowledge of analytical, statistical, and evaluative methods, as well as techniques that can be used to measure and evaluate program performance and success, as well as identify new opportunities for program improvements.

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
