Matrix Providers is hiring a Child Clinical Psychologist to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD

We strive to provide a framework of stability and structure for our valued Clinical Psychologists at Walter Reed, where you will experience lower provider-to-patient ratios and fair, reliable schedules.

  • Setting: Medical Center (Child/Adolescent Patient Population)
  • Role: Conducting assessments, diagnoses, and treatment of a range of behavioral and mental health issues, providing essential psychological support and guidance to Child and Adolescent patients.
  • Compensation: $72 per hour + $10,000 Sign on bonus.
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
    • 40 hours per week
    • No Nights, no weekends, no on-call

As a valued member of our Behavioral Health Team, the Child Clinical Psychologist will:

  • Complete psychiatric assessment on child & adolescent patients.
  • Conduct psychosocial evaluations and provides therapeutic interventions including crisis counseling child & adolescent patients and their families as needed to facilitate behavioral health clinical care management.
  • Provide treatment across a range of modalities to include Psychotherapy, play, group and family therapy with all aged children and adolescents.
  • Administer and interpret psychological tests which are used for diagnosing mental, personality and learning disorders, and for differentiating between organic and functional causes of behavior disorders.
  • Develop a comprehensive treatment care plan in accordance with behavioral health care standards for child & adolescent patients and their families.
  • Coordinate services for those patients who move to another location to ensure continuity of care.
  • Facilitate transfer of the case to local behavioral health care case management resources, as appropriate.
  • Presents patient cases in regularly scheduled case staffing meetings to discuss status and updates to cases under the direction of the C, BH Acute and Outpatient Services or Service OIC, and other assigned supervisors, as required.

Clinical Psychologist (Children/Adolescents) Requirements:

Education: Shall hold a Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program and must have completed an APA approved clinical psychology internship.
Certification: Must maintain current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course; American Red Cross CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) for the Professional Rescuer; or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum two years of current experience working with child & adolescents.
Licensure: Must have and maintain a current license to practice Clinical or Counseling Psychology in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands that allows for the independent practice of clinical services.
