DIS is currently seeking a Strategic Planning Specialist to join our (SCIM) Strategic Communications & Marketing practice. The right individual has a strong background in planning, developing, and monitoring implementation of plans, policies, procedures, and guidance, to assist with organization improvements; provide means of measuring process improvements; and achieve quantum improvements in organization efficiency and effectiveness.

Essential Duties

  • The Strategic Planning Specialist will be responsible for:
  • Planning, developing, and monitoring implementation of plans, policies, procedures, and guidance for the Veterans Affairs initiatives and the agency's goals.
  • Will be responsible for creating the means of measuring process improvements; and achieve quantum improvements in the organization.
  • Will be responsible for directing and managing top level, high visibility efforts involving strategic business planning, continuous improvement issues and/or program integration for the VA.
  • Responsible for preparing strategic plans and conducting strategic assessments for the Federal Government.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.A./B.S. in business, management, or program/project management
  • Minimum of five (5) years of applying planning and analysis concepts and techniques to develop strategic plans or otherwise influence or affect significant organizational goals and directives.
  • Strong oral communication and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in team setting or independently.
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the US for any employer as sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Ability to obtain a US government security clearance.
  • Preference will be given to qualified Veteran candidates.
