Purpose Statement:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the monthly close, account analysis, P&L review, and inventory transactions for a multi-company environment. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures associated with accounting, as well as insuring GAPP compliance. This position will also help with internal accounting functions such as booking entries and maintaining the general ledge. The Staff Accountant must be dependable, have a keen eye for detail and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with month end close.
  • Perform account analysis as assigned.
  • Prepare and book journal entries.
  • Assist in the reporting of financial results and variances.
  • Assist in cash flow reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain various weekly/monthly reports.
  • Assist the Inventory Controller with various inventory reconciliations and item movement/transactions.
  • Assist in documentation and monitoring of best accounting practice.
  • Perform special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Research and resolve accounting issues.
  • Prepare account reconciliation.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Experience & Qualifications

Required

  • Proficient in MS Excel including pivot tables and v-lookups.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Teams).
  • Strong GAAP accounting knowledge.
  • Experience with monthly close procedures, monthly and quarterly financial reporting
  • Ability to speak and read English.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess a high level of ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to perform tasks that are repetitive.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.

Preferred

  • 2-4 Years experience in Accounts Payable.
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems, NetSuite Highly Preferred.
  • Experience with shipping approaches (FEDEX & UPS).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related discipline. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis.
