About the Role

As a Metallurgy Technician you will be responsible for (including but not limited to) providing Metallurgical testing services to the Mill, SXEW, Mine and support departments (as required).

Positions Responsibilities

· Ensure all employees are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures.

· Ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine standard operating procedures.

· Ensure that all employees and contractors are certified to execute the tasks/jobs they are assigned (as necessary).

· Perform lab testing (i.e. crush, grind, thick, filtration, flotation, etc.).

· Gather, interpret, analyze, report data and write reports.

· Computer data entry.

· Plant testing, reagent set-up and application, sample gathering and observation.

· Function as a resource and teacher for operators.

· Special sampling, testing for other departments (as required).

· Hazard materials recognition, handling and response.

· Promote a safe work culture for employees and contractors.

Qualifications

· SAP experience a plus.

· Mineral processing course(s), internship or previous metallurgical experience in mining desired.

· Intermediate computer skills; Microsoft Office (with emphasis on Excel spreadsheets) and Microsoft Outlook experience.

· Strong math and statistical analysis skills.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English.

Physical Demands of the Role

· The position will work in an office environment, Mine, Concentrator and SXEW (as required). Work environment would include: poor footing, hot and cold temperatures, heights, restricted lighting, loud noise, confined spaces; wet, humid, dusty, windy, dirty, greasy areas; deep water, exposure to chemical fumes, etc.

· Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, including walking up and down stairs and across uneven surfaces.

· Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

· Ability to work in both hot and cold environments with high humidity.

· Ability to kneel, crawl, stoop, and squat, occasionally in confined spaces.
