Description
- Performs restorative nursing tasks in accordance with care plans and facility policies and procedures, including active and passive range of motion, splint or brace assistance, bed mobility, transfer, walking, dressing and/or grooming, eating and/or swallowing, amputation/prosthesis care, and communication within the scope of the individuals’ training.
- Promotes and supports the greatest possible degree of independence for residents.
- Contributes knowledge of resident’s conditions/needs to resident care plans.
- Maintains confidentially of residents’ information.
- Record all restorative documentation entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., timely and in an informative and descriptive manner.
- Work closely with therapists and Restorative Nurse designee to establish restorative nursing goals and interventions for resident’s care plan.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with facility staff and good public relations with patients and families.
- Performs tasks to individual residents or as part of small group classes.
- Reports changes in a resident’s condition to the resident’s nurse.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required or Licensed in the state(s) where services are being provided as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or Physical Therapist Assistant
- Recent experience working in a skilled nursing facility (1 year) preferred
- Experience working as a Restorative Nursing Assistant or Restorative Tech preferred
