Marketing Intern

A Marketing Intern position in Kansas City, MOis available at Garney Construction. In this role, you will support an ambitious team that thrives on collaboration and innovation. Garney Construction is a growing, employee owned water and wastewater general contractor.The internship position will provide an opportunity for a currently enrolled college student to gather marketing knowledge from a construction company perspective. This position will involve learning about solicitation and proposal development processes, graphic design, and communications. We offer hands-on experience to leverage your classroom knowledge and convert it into professional skills. The marketing internship is a full-time position at our Kansas City, Missouri, office over a three-month period, available for class credit.

• Assist and learn about the development, quality check, and assembly of high-quality qualifications/winning proposals that complies and meets solicitation requirements
• Work with graphic designers to create a library of supporting graphics and assist with other design tasks
• Provide support to our Internal and External Communications Team
• Assist with updating our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system
• Learn to complete administrative support tasks for the Marketing Team
• Manage deadlines and responsibilities assigned
• Attend project site visits to gain more technical industry knowledge
• Prepare and give project presentations

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Mass Communications, Journalism, or other related field
• High level of motivation-a go-getter willing to go the extra mile
• Excellent organization and written/verbal communication skills
• Active listener with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to deliver quality work that meets requirements and deadlines
• Strong editing skills and attention to detail with the ability to double-check your own work
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) as well as social media
• Experience in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus

• Full time paid internship position, $22/hour - 40 hours per week paid weekly via direct deposit.
