Position Purpose

Sleep Number seeks a Planning Manager, Brand Campaigns to lead and align strategic marketing initiatives that result in effective brand, promotional and product marketing plans that expand brand relevance, create engagement, increase purchase consideration and drive sales. As part of the centralized planning function, the Planning Manager is also responsible for project management including budget management and the creation of process and tools that drive efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainable processes.

This position consistently engages with the CMO and senior marketing leaders to ensure strategic alignment on brand campaigns as well as execution tactics. The ideal candidate for the Planning Manager role will have exceptional relationship building skills as well as the ability to prioritize, lead, and influence while working in fast-paced, ever-changing and demanding situations. #PIQ

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee campaigns that advance brand positioning including strategic development, integration, communication and measurement.
  • Partner with advertising agencies, Sleep Number’s CMO, Marketing VPs and Sleep Number’s creative team on the development and production of the cross-channel brand campaigns​ that directly connect Sleep Number innovations to health outcomes.
  • Lead contact for creative agency partners​ with focus on coordination, communication and accountability.
  • Drive overall brand campaign integration in all marketing channels by ensuring appropriate channel specific amplification plans.
  • Own communication on strategy and execution of campaigns to both internal and external stakeholders including executive summaries on activation plans.
  • Provides KPI executive summaries on post-launch performance resulting from the testing and measurement of brand campaigns from pre-production through implementation​.
  • Serve as channel owner for TV & radio creative versioning and execution​.
  • Communicate and manage brand standards to create a unified and cohesive voice for the Sleep Number brand​
  • Leads cross-functional teams in developing brand strategy initiatives, processes and execution as needed
  • Oversee and manage budget related to all production costs to produce marketing materials including broadcast development and versioning​ and invoice management.
  • Serves as production manager for all video content needs ensuring within brand standards and providing strategic to execution direction.

Position Requirements 

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing planning with consumer product or retail companies and/or agency account management experience at the Director, Supervisor or Project Manager level
  • BA/BS required; MBA preferred
  • Track record of delivering multifaceted campaigns from strategy through execution
  • Excellent business planning and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to manage and motivate peers
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Conceptual, analytical skills and time management skills

Working Conditions

  • Flexible hybrid work arrangement including a blend of onsite work at Sleep Number HQ in Minneapolis, Minnesota as well as remote work for team members living within a 45-mile radius of the office location
