Once assigned an event, the CI event leader works with the affected business functions to develop a detailed event charter, coordinate event logistics, and ultimately leads the team through the event. Typical CI events are 5 days long, and include 10+ people.
Following the event, the CI event leader works with the event team to ensure action items and financial results from the event are completed and tracked. Ultimately, the event team leader is responsible for reporting actual event results to the Director of Continuous Improvement.
In addition to event facilitation, the CI event leader is also responsible for administering Lean training and for coordinating workstreams/reporting results in support of various small improvement projects. These two responsibilities account for a minority of the workload in this role.
Senior Manager Continuous Improvement Event Leader
Location: Nashville, TN
The continuous improvement (CI) event leader is a Lean expert, responsible for facilitating multi-day kaizen events or value stream mapping (VSM) events for business functions across Asurion. The purpose of these events is to leverage Lean tools to improve an existing process or build a strategic roadmap for change. The CI event leader reports to the Director of Continuous Improvement, who partners with leaders from across the business to identify event opportunities and assigns them to the CI event leader.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate complex, multi-day kaizen events and VSMs for large teams
- Develop charters (scope) for CI events
- Track and report results from CI events
- Coordinate logistics for CI events
- Administer Lean training as needed
- Coordinate workstreams and report results in support of various small CI projects

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience facilitating complex, multi-day kaizen events or other transformational change events for large groups.
- Lean certification and experience using Lean tools is required.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Applications: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Visio
- Occasional (0-10%) travel required
