About this job

The continuous improvement (CI) event leader is a Lean expert, responsible for facilitating multi-day kaizen events or value stream mapping (VSM) events for business functions across Asurion. The purpose of these events is to leverage Lean tools to improve an existing process or build a strategic roadmap for change. The CI event leader reports to the Director of Continuous Improvement, who partners with leaders from across the business to identify event opportunities and assigns them to the CI event leader.

Once assigned an event, the CI event leader works with the affected business functions to develop a detailed event charter, coordinate event logistics, and ultimately leads the team through the event. Typical CI events are 5 days long, and include 10+ people.

Following the event, the CI event leader works with the event team to ensure action items and financial results from the event are completed and tracked. Ultimately, the event team leader is responsible for reporting actual event results to the Director of Continuous Improvement.

In addition to event facilitation, the CI event leader is also responsible for administering Lean training and for coordinating workstreams/reporting results in support of various small improvement projects. These two responsibilities account for a minority of the workload in this role.
