AZTEC is currently seeking resumes from a qualified Senior Architect for our Tysons Corner, VA office. This position offers a hybrid schedule, and some travel will be required.

Job Description:

This role will lead and oversee the provision of the Architectural services for AZTEC on both public and privately funded projects.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Technical coordination of design and design supervision teams, in large multidisciplinary and international projects
  • Management of projects (scope and fee management), leading and coordinating project teams, and proposal preparation
  • Perform architectural design functions including programming, conceptual design, construction document development, and construction support activities
  • Support Architecture related business development as requested. (Transit, campus, urban, community, and civic planning and design; private development).

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • A master's degree in Architecture is a plus
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of practical experience leading programming, conceptual designs, preliminary designs, construction documents, and providing construction support for a diverse cross-section of architectural projects
  • International experience is desirable, in the Middle East is a plus
  • Licensed Architect in Virginia. Licensed in other States is a plus
  • Member of the American Institute of Architects
  • LEED AP certification is desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems
  • Strong, creative design and graphic skills. · Team-oriented attitude
  • Self-motivated
  • Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier

Working Conditions and Environment:

This position will require general supervision and will have to use independent judgment within established guidelines. Generally, uses advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances.

Will need the ability to establish rapport quickly with others working on the same project, and be able to promote a positive team environment. Working knowledge of dealing with a diverse population while using tact, diplomacy, and respect.
