Additional Requirements:

Position Description:

  • Malama Speech Therapy is seeking part-time or full time speech language pathologists to deliver therapy services to the students of Hawaii (pre-k through high school).

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university
  • SLP license in the state of Hawaii
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Valid Driver License
  • Pass FBI background check
  • TB clearance
  • CPR certification
  • Experience within a school setting is recommended but not required

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and diagnosing a variety of developmental disorders
  • Writing measurable, observable, and functional goals that align with Common Core State Standards with parent and team input
  • Delivering quality interventions to students by utilizing research and evidenced-based practices to drive treatment decisions
  • Demonstrating proficiency with a variety of service delivery models that allow the student to access the general education curriculum in the least restrictive environment.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of interventions with continuous progress monitoring
  • Adapting and modifying the curriculum and tools for the classroom based on the student's present levels of performance and progress towards goals
  • Correctly writing and entering the following within a timely fashion: assessments, IEPs, progress reports, documentation of services, parent contact
