Seeking an Experienced and Reliable Director of Nursing for a beautiful Family Owned 25 bed Nursing Facility in the Maple City Community!

Candidate will have administrative authority and responsibility for the development and maintenance of nursing service

objectives, standards of nursing practice, nursing policy and procedure, and written job descriptions for each

level of nursing personnel. Coordinates nursing services, with other resident services, and for recommending

the number and levels of nursing personnel to be employed and staff development. Assists in the operations

and administration of the organization. Works closely with management, medical director, and legal counsel.

Supervision Exercised

Directly responsible for all nursing staff of the organization assigned to them.

Is willing to be on call when out of the facility to answer staff nurse resident questions and /or authorize

emergency treatment.

Requirements

As a Director of Nursing Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Assures compliance with State and Federal Nursing Home Regulations as they apply to provision of nursing
  • Supervise the scheduling of Resident Care Conferences to initiate and maintain resident care planning and

communication with all levels of nursing personnel and other professional disciplines involved in resident

care.

  • Assure that resident needs are met through utilization of appropriate staff and community resources.
  • Oversee residents’ overall plans of care and ensure coordination of all services through staffconferences.
  • Visits all shifts to evaluate nursing services
  • Must work as charge nurse to cover shifts as needed during staffing difficulties.
  • Participate in the resident admission process by making admission recommendations based on residentneeds, staffing levels, staff qualifications, equipment availability, and provisions of the Resident Care

Qualifications:

  • Required training and experience include a Bachelors or Associates Degree or Diploma from a State Approved School of Nursing.
  • Must also possess a valid Michigan Registered Nursing License.
  • Must also be CPR Certified.
  • Must be supportive, cooperative and enthusiastic about facility policies and goals.
  • Must be cognizant of responsibilities of a team approach to completion of projects and ability to work with Department Supervisors and Administration.
