SBM Management is searching for a Lab Services Manager! The lab Services Manager directs company programs and implements company policy to ensure total compliance with contract duties between company and customer, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers and/or supervisors. The coordinate and direct operations necessary to carry out contractual responsibilities of the company, including any and all necessary planning, supervision, budgeting, vendor and supplier contact, customer relations and other high level managerial or supervisor responsibilities.  


Responsibilities:
  • Plans and develops work schedules to ensure adequate service.
  • Oversee the day to day operations of the Laboratory Services Department up to but not limited to; Laboratory, Hazardous and Regulated medical waste streams and daily laboratory glass wash operations.
  • Assist research staff with procedural questions on waste removal, shipping and receiving, package tracking, laboratory moves and clean-outs.   
  • Input laboratory services metrics into SBM InSite.
  • Assist in 5S/Lean processes projects as applicable.
  • Oversee monthly DPCC and weekly RCRA regulatory inspections and reports. 
  • Prepares schedules for service personnel, assigns personnel to routes.
  • Inspects and evaluates physical condition of establishment for program compliance, i.e. safety, quality, and service.
  • Audits and maintains inventories supplies and equipment.
  • Investigates new and promotes improved equipment and methods.
  • Partners with SBM site manager in providing quality services to our customers. 
  • Reviews customer requests for service to ascertain cause for service request, type of malfunction, and address with manager.
  • Analyzes & facilitates budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made.
  • Assist in the promotion of services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry.
  • Inspects plant and evaluates use of space and facilities.
  • Assists with plans, budgets, and schedules modifications including cost estimates bid sheets and contracts.
  • Ensures that site meets budget goals on a sustaining basis.
  • Assist in the development of long-range plans, conceptual designs, and capital outlay requirements for program/process improvements.
  • Compiles data for preparing estimates.
  • Maintain and report on financial part of business, such as, labor hours, overhead, supplies, expenses, billing, forecasting and any changes to these areas.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for self and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, such as, FLSA, OSHA, ADA, etc.
  • Directs supervisory management engaged in support of facilities programs.
  • Acts as liaison between company, customers, clients, employees, and subcontractors.
  • Maintains contract and contractor status databases.
  • Reviews all correspondence concerning contractors and responds as appropriate.
  • Establishes and maintains contact with contractors to ensure the smooth working of the contract process.
  • Conduct and attend meetings to communicate top down, and bottom up on a consistent real time basis, with customers, clients, and employees.
  • Assist with human resource concerns and issues.
  • Some travel is required for this position.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two to three years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and Experience, such as an A.A. Degree with 2+ years experience or a Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.); With a minimum one year related experience and/or training in environment, management, urban Planning and/or facilities operations.  
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.  

  •  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.   

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.  

  • Fluent in English, Basic Computer knowledge, and able to work under a stressful situations.

Shift: Monday - Friday  

   

Compensation:  $65,000 - $70,000 per year
