Director Cash Applications

Clean Harbors is looking for a Director of Cash Applications to join our safety conscious team! The Director will be responsible for directing the US and GCC teams for all cash application processes. This individual will be the company's subject matter expert for all cash applications systems, manual processes, and automated processes. The Director will also ensure timely and effective processing for multi-currency, multiple banks for Wire/ACH, Credit Card and lockboxes, as well as adjustments, write-offs and reconciliations. They will also be responsible for the team’s activities related to research and resolution of cash application inquiries for all internal/external customers. Oversees process for credit card processing for timely posting and compliance with contracts and security surrounding card information.

• Develop operating policies and procedures for the department; lead teams to achieve goals for cash applications, adjustments, write-offs, and reconciliations.
• Establish and Drive Process improvements for the US and GCC Cash Applications teams across both manual and automated processes.
• Become personally involved with more complex, difficult, and older issues to resolve them. This may include direct customer contact.
• Participate in senior management meetings related to cash applications, collections, and other key areas.
• Involved in defining opportunities for automation and developing business specifications / requirements.
• Resolve issues and be the lead person for technical questions from the internal cash apps team as well as internal customers.
• Produce status reports (or Power BI's) on overall Cash Applications health.
• Responsible for hiring, training, and managing Central Cash Applications team (US and GCC).
• Primary interface with external banks, lockboxes, credit card processors & gateways, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business required. Master’s Degree preferred. 
• 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent knowledge of the Cash Applications process.
• Experience with a Major ERP system: Oracle, SAP, Peoplesoft, etc.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to resolve problems.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication (written/verbal) skills.
• Strong analytical skills including high proficiency in MS Excel.
• Ability to travel 10%.
