Job Responsibilities

Chemical Operator is a shift position (rotating 12 hour, days and nights) that is divided into 3 positions: tank truck loader, rail car loader and tank manager that rotate daily. The operator is responsible for unloading bulk raw materials, sampling for bio program and finished product filtering. The chemical operator is also responsible for general warehouse tasks involving loading and unloading tank trucks and railcars, finished product filtering and management of product storage tanks.

• Good troubleshooting skills
• Learn and explain WCC/ISO procedures, rules and regulations.
• Work independently with little supervision.
• Perform basic math skills
• Establish and maintain effective and cooperative work environment with others
• Understand and follow verbal and written direction
• Good communication skills
• Good computer skills
• Basic knowledge of Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies.
• Knowledge of LO/TO procedure

Normal chemical hazards found in a typical chemical plant. Employee is subject to and is expected to work overtime requirements in the chemical operator overtime rotation for a shift worker. Appropriate personal protective equipment is to be used whenever potential exists for exposure to hazardous materials. Ability to lift 55 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects. Often requires stooping, pushing, pulling, climbing, and reaching.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required, some college course work is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of industrial plant experience is required and a minimum of two years chemical plant process operations experience is preferred. Good computer skills are required
