(), a multi-faceted and rapidly growing architectural and engineering firm with 20 office locations and over 475 employees throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast and Northeast areas, is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to work remotely or in our Columbus, Harrisburg, Baltimore, Lexington, Louisville, Ft. Mitchell, Jacksonville, or Pensacola offices.

Position Overview:

The primary responsibilities of this role will be to oversee the project accounting cycle including project set up in Deltek Vantage Point, billing, project performance management, and contract close out by working closely with program managers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly financial project performance review meetings.
  • Review and analyze business line financial data and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide scheduled and ad hoc financial and project reporting for operational leads.
  • Assist Project Managers with full life-cycle of project financial management including project setup, invoicing, collections and project close out.
  • Manage monthly invoicing to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for group operations employees for financial support for projects.
  • Track subcontractors expenses and assist in proper application of charges to projects and payments to subcontractors.
  • Manage Unbilled Accounts Receivable and Deferred revenue.
  • Participate in or lead necessary Project Accounting training sessions for operations.
  • Support for bank audit, external audit, and customer audit.
  • Work closely with Finance team for timely and accurate monthly close.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, internal controls, GAAP, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Support ongoing development / establishment of accounting procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes and enhancements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of experience required, preferably in the A&E Industry.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in Deltek Vision/Vantage Point preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
