About this job

The Shipping / Receiving Clerk working in conjunction with the Logistics Manager is responsible for creating and managing the shipping schedule, properly receiving and shipping materials, and reporting shipping and receiving information to internal and external customers.

* Safety / Environmental
Brings all safety / environmental / quality concerns to the attention of the appropriate department manager immediately.
* Receiving / Shipping
Follows all work instructions outlined in QWI-1 (Shipping) and QWI-2 (receiving) and all other applicable plant policies and procedures.
* Daily Finished Goods Counts
Counts all finished goods each day. Investigates errors and reports those errors to the Logistics Manager for additional follow-up if necessary.
* Reports Review
Working in conjunction with the Logistics Manager reviews reports daily.

Other Duties / Responsibilities: Assist with maintaining and updating the shipping / receiving schedule. Maintains relationship with trucking dispatchers. Files paperwork on a daily basis. Supplies Warehouse Manager with information regarding scheduled shipments and receipts. Assist with inventory control as needed / requested. Assumes duties / responsibilities of Logistics Manager in their absence.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum Georgia Work Key Scores required: Graphic Literacy: 4, Workplace Documents: 4, Applied Mathematics: 5.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret Bills of Lading, Purchase Orders, SDS's, manufacturing sheets, and packaging sheets. Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and visitors. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret graphs. Ability to read and interpret scales.
