$60K – $80K / Year DOE

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Automotive Technician

The Automotive Technician fixes, inspects and maintains cars, trucks, SUVs and other vehicles. Primary duties include using tools to find any potential issues with a vehicle, explain problems with the car to the driver, and performing maintenance on the car to fix it or prevent it from future breakdowns or issues. The Automotive Technician is largely responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicle engine systems. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Repair brake and steering systems.

• Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems.

• Replace or repair transmissions and fuel components as needed.

• Repair cooling components and systems including air conditioners and engine cooling.

• Draining the oil from a vehicle and replacing it to manufacturer specifications.

• Topping off other fluids, including brake, power steering and windshield wiper fluid.

• Inspecting the engine block and underbody for leaks and potential issues.

• Installing new car parts, such as air filters, oil filters, windshield wipers and batteries.

• Lubricating moving parts as necessary, including those in the engine and wheel bearings and ensuring the engine is kept clean throughout servicing.

• Perform emissions inspections, safety checks and similar state-regulated vehicle examinations.

• Inspect tires on vehicles before and after installation.

• Perform tire rotations, balancing, and other maintenance tasks.

• Checking tire pressure and filling tires with air as needed to manufacturer specifications.

Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of 3-4 years automotive service technician experience.

• Must maintain a clean, safe working environment.

• Must produce legible and accurate paperwork reflecting work performed.

• Must possess a valid state driver’s license for conducting test drives.

• ASE certification preferred.
