Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with special needs, tailoring lesson plans to individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create and implement effective strategies for student success.
- Conduct assessments and regularly update IEPs to reflect students' progress and evolving needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the special education program.
Requirements:
- Valid New York state teaching certification with Special Education endorsement.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
