DEPARTMENT: Curriculum JOB TITLE: Curriculum Coordinator CLASSIFICATION: Exempt REPORTS TO: Director of (Elementary or Secondary) Curriculum JOB GOAL: The Curriculum Coordinator will collaborate with and assist teachers in a specific grade span and/or content area. Curriculum Coordinators will work with the curriculum department, and academic leadership to ensure teachers are following set instructional practices in relation to curriculum implementation. In addition, the Curriculum Coordinator will help create course maps based on state standards, assessment anchors, and eligible content and assist in the implementation of synchronous and asynchronous course offerings. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Valid and Active Pennsylvania Teaching Certification • Master’s Degree preferred • Minimum of two years’ experience in related field • Child Abuse Clearance; Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Clearance ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of courses, standards, and assessments within grade level/subject matter • Function as primary point of contact for teachers in relation to their grade level/subject matter content • Plan and/or lead grade level/subject matter meetings on a regular basis with the purpose of consistent communication across grade levels/subject areas • Prepare asynchronous courses for implementation, including, but not limited to: review of course content and assessments; sequencings of courses; identifying issues and making suggestions for course improvement; recommending materials and resources; editing and authoring content and assessments as needed; training and communicating with teachers; preparing accompanying documents for teachers, students, and families • Create course pacing guides for teachers and students • Demonstrate and provide best practice techniques to teachers • Align asynchronous content to all applicable state standards, assessment anchors, and eligible content • Utilize curriculum mapping software to develop curriculum maps in assigned grade levels/subject areas• Instruct, if assigned, a course section(s) within one of PA Cyber’s modes of instruction • Integrate innovative cross-curricular content based on research and best practices where applicable • Create videos to be used within PA Cyber courses and/or as training material for teachers and students • Collaborate with all Curriculum Coordinators and academic leadership to communicate and implement initiatives and projects from the curriculum department • Attend all required on site trainings, meetings, in-service days, and professional development days • Attend school events as deemed appropriate • Return emails, phone calls, and all types of correspondence in a timely manner • Understand the diverse backgrounds and needs of PA Cyber students and families • Maintain a thorough understanding of the various technologies and systems utilized within the school • Utilize LMS, SIS, and PA Cyber’s live instructional platform effectively in order to train teachers in best practice uses within the system • Perform any additional duties as deemed necessary by administration PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
