JOB SUMMARY:

As a CBC Line Packer (Packaging) for Carl Buddig & Company you will be responsible for producing product by preparing and packaging cooked product for shipment with a safety -minded attitude that maintains and enhances a safety culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees.

DEPARTMENT: CARL BUDDIG (LUNCHMEAT)

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load bulk meat logs (up to 30 pounds) into meat slicer at required production frequency levels.
  • Perform random re-weight checks of sliced meat product.
  • Review and inspect product.
  • Place predetermined amount of sliced meat products into packaging.
  • Reject meat product that does not meet specifications.
  • Place required number of packages into box.
  • Inspect individual packages for proper quality specifications at a rate of 21 - 40 units per minute.
  • Ensure that boxes are filled per required levels.
  • Place completed boxes on pallet ensuring proper pallet configuration.
  • Place empty pallet into position for proper stocking.
  • Always maintain areas in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Inspect equipment for sanitary conditions.
  • Inspect product for quality and any signs of foreign material contamination.
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less and be able to lift up to 35 pounds for 30 minutes at a time.
  • Must be flexible and able to work as needed.
  • Must be able to work in a high-speed packaging environment and be able to stand for up to 8 - 10 hours per day.
  • Must have good hand/eye coordination and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and squat as needed for housekeeping responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
  • Must be able to work 40 or more hours per week and work mandatory overtime if necessary, including weekends.
  • Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
