About this job

The Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for generating engineering packages for release to manufacturing, directing and guiding designers to complete the drawing packages, and supervising and directing Project Engineers to ensure accurate completion of all assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Produce error free, cost effective drawings. Meet timelines given for assignments. Demonstrate innovativeness in designs with increased quality and cost effectiveness in mind Generate detailed ECN's, as required. Determine proper sizing of drive packages and pneumatics. Develop schedule for project work, both in terms of hours and dates. Monitor the progress of those assigned to assist in the completion of the project. Provide constructive input on new designs and concepts. Remain an integral member of new development/value engineering projects. Assist in the estimation of costs for new proposed projects. Handle copy designs, detail work, small brackets/stationary brackets, New Drive Packages, moving brackets/small calculations, and special purchase parts. Design Dynamic Brackets, Gearboxes/Motors, and complete General Assemblies. Confirm compliance with customer specifications. Assist others with project-related work. Design machines with little to no assistance. Design complex spec heavy machines. Other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university, or one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
